What is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Counselling, & Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)?

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a psychological approach based on scientific principles which research has shown to be effective for a wide range of problems. Client and Therapist work together to identify and understand the problems in terms of the relationship between thoughts, feeling and behaviours. They develop a shared view of the individual's problems and they can then identify personalised, time limited therapy goals and strategies to treat the problem.

Counselling is a therapy that offers people a place to be able to talk about difficult issues, where they can feel heard in a confidential, non judgemental, compassionate way. Through this process people can hope to find ways to manage or overcome their difficulties.

Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) is a technique which involves practices that can help break cycles of anxiety, stress and depression.

I combine my training, skills, knowledge and experience of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Counselling and Mindfulness to offer people a type of therapy where they can learn new skills and techniques which help tackle their problems in a supportive, empathic, non judgemental environment.
